  • ‘Stukas over the palace grounds’…

    SkyHarbor, 2010/12/31

Been having weird dreams lately. Even odder is that I still remember (most of) ‘em even after I’ve staggered into the bathroom…

Maybe it’s due to my re-reading of Shirer’s epic “The Rise & Fall” (entirely byronius’ fault btw), or cheap ale, or what… but try to humour me. Here ’tis…

    depressing eye candy

    Max, 2010/12/30

The American dream, what a nightmare. Think I’ll go meditate.

    some sky glyphs…

    SkyHarbor,

    KMH: Aloha #3

Speaking of drawings… (sadly, they don’t put mine in museums…) ;-)
Some cave art for the 21st century?…

    a face in the crowd…

    raison detre,

soon i will be submitting a book of over 80 drawings and collages and paintings to the new brooklyn art library for their collection…
and begin work on another book for the exhibit/collection that’s more word heavy ;)… the library just opened…

the books will be touring the country for a short time (one day in sf) since they have to be tightly controlled, all have barcodes on them and i already have my library card (for 1/2 a year now, at least)… so i can see who’s looked at my book… ;) and i’ll have a website of its contents too… scary ;)

deadline is jan 15. here’s mobile snap of a drawing of a friend… (it’s in aquamarine but i didn’t have time to do color correction last night, so i desaturated it, since it was taken in low light)

    i don’t have a cover idea yet…

    here’s a sketchbook video someone did…

The Lefty Blog Christmas Video War.

    byronius,

Every year, Eschaton, Sadly, No!, and some other sites go at each other with painful music videos. So far, this is the best. I actually kind like it.

A few years ago, this war netted me the ‘Moscow’ video, as well as the excellent ‘My Loony Buns Are Fine Benny Lava’ piece which eventually overwhelmed the competition with its juicy weirdness.

    Dreams…

    Senrab, 2010/12/29

“Of the things that followed I cannot at all say whether they were what men call real or what men call dream. And for all I can tell, the only difference is that what many see we call a real thing, and what only one sees we call a dream. But things that many see may have no taste or moment in them at all, and things that are shown only to one may be spears and water-spouts of truth from the very depth of truth.”

    – C.S. Lewis “Till We Have Faces”

    Fearies.

    byronius,

    Crooks And Liars

Political opinions are considered choices, and in Western democracies the right to choose one’s opinions — freedom of conscience — is considered sacrosanct.

But recent studies suggest that our brains and genes may be a major determining factor in the views we hold.

A study at University College London in the UK has found that conservatives’ brains have larger amygdalas than the brains of liberals. Amygdalas are responsible for fear and other “primitive” emotions. At the same time, conservatives’ brains were also found to have a smaller anterior cingulate — the part of the brain responsible for courage and optimism.

Patterns laid down over the last thirty million years are desperately struggling to stay relevant, even to the end that the species is made extinct by such behaviors.

    Wake ‘em up.

when there’s nothing left to say…

    SkyHarbor,

    shout

    Hallelujah!

I’m not a believer, but there are things DEEPER than religion… Like this piece of utter heart wrenching genius by Leonard Cohen… and John Cale’s lovely interpretation from ‘Shrek’… My eyes leaked salt water during this scene.

David screwed up. (been there, DONE that)…

    Arizona: special idiot status…

    SkyHarbor, 2010/12/28

    Ok, I’ve HAD it!
The State of Arizona has gone WELL beyond the pale!
My (more than generous) patience has EXPIRED!
    These people are INSANE.
i’m listening to yet ANOTHER crazy Arizona public official…

    Patience has EXPIRED!

Has anyone bothered to inform these asswipes that this is ALL STOLEN LAND?!

Even from a calm logical state, this concept is what we call in America… BULLSHIT!

If you’re HERE because you WANT to be…
By MY lights, you ARE by DEFINITION, an AMERICAN.

And fuck anybody who says otherwise. YOU, dear sir or madam, are by definition NOT Americans, Please GO HOME.

Well… I know SOMETHING was bouncing!

    SkyHarbor,

    ‘Bouncing Betty’ (alternate mix)
Seemed a bit over the top at the time… now I’m sort of diggin’ it… what do you think?

    I KNOW… seriously needs a BRIDGE!…
    byronius: words please?
