Songs For Wayward Meteors.

Previously unreleased early versions of World Of Fire and Satellite, by the Jupiter Sheep.

World Of Fire
Satellite

I have never had a decent version of World Of Fire. I do now.

I don’t remember any of this. It appears to pre-Missy — is that Sky? WTF is this?

‘Satellite’ has the Swiss Miss and what appears to be me…
‘World Of Fire’ has no Missy but ‘probably’ me…

No idea when/where this was recorded… early days tho.

Just listened to Satellite. I hear no Missy on that track, but I do hear Jenny somebody-or-other. She was the pretty blond that we were accused of using for ‘decoration.’ She’s certainly no Missy, but I thought she had an interesting voice that worked well with Natalie. I believe that track was from a second set of tunes we recorded at Enharmonic after they moved to a new location. For some reason we never finished that session and the tracks we recorded didn’t get lead parts added. That’s why it’s not so clear Sky is there.

    Now to listen to “Fire”.

World of Fire was from the same session. I think I hear Jenny in there but I’m not sure. Definitely no Miss. I always thought World of Fire was one of our most beautiful songs texturally and rhythmically, but it kind of needed to go somewhere more interesting melodically. It was a good set opener in the early days as I recall. Problem with songs without enough melodic hook is you tend to tire of them which seems to have happened to Fire.

I completely don’t recall Jenny… just another pretty face?

Both recordings sound ‘tinny’ to me, but thanx for posting!

We should have just called ourselves The Tinnies. Not the Boomtown Rats, that’s for sure.

    I like that, raisin.

I think Max has it — the Enharmonic sessions with Jennifer Paige Ward. I think Sky joined the band during these sessions, and is trying to fit in with Steve; it’s before he established his own role, but I’m almost certain that’s him.

I think Sky must have played with Jenny a few times — Mansion Cellars, maybe? Maybe not.

I hope nobody minds me posting this stuff. It’s only up for a short while, just for bandies only really, and I just don’t remember a lot of it until prompted. I’m a faulty algorithm, man. It helps to be able to show this stuff.

I’m working on a ten-minute documentary about The Music, and this process helps.
