Manual of Errors…

SkyHarbor, 2013/03/23

Perhaps my fave Snakey LP (best cover art IMHO!) – right up there with ‘Greener Postures’… rough in spots but delightful! (Philip Lithman a.k.a. Snakefinger [1949-1987] RIP)

Very cool groove. Rather Frippesque in a way. Oddly, I found the cover art somewhat repellant and was content to entirely ignore this post, but eventually managed to bring myself to click on the play icon. I’ve only heard the first. Is the whole album in the playlist?

Max: Yes, it’s all there. You can hear that it’s rec’d from a vinyl LP. Track 4, “You Sliced Up My Wife” is weird at the beginning, but hey… There are lots of good numbers here… but I’m biased. “The Garden of Earthly Delights” and “I Followed George’s Dream” are particular favourites.

I really like the cover art.

1 Yeti What Are You? 4:10
    2 Beatnik Party 3:42
3 The Garden of Earthly Delights 3:02
4 You Sliced Up My Wife 2:01
    5 I Followed George’s Dream 5:24
    6 Bring Back Reality 5:07
    7 Shining Faces 2:22
    8 Eva’s Warning 4:37
9 Private Universe / Life on Nebulov 7:35
(the latest reissue CD has additional tracks)

Ummm, the actual title is “The Man In The *Dark* Sedan”.
    From ‘Greener Postures” (1980).

I’m the man in the dark sedan and I have come to take your hand

I was sent down here to be sincere, truthful and steadfast
I came to say that judgement day of man has come to pass

You can follow me and I guarantee to take you far away
But we must leave before the eve of everlasting gray

You will leave this place and soon replace the names of those you know
With a brotherhood that has withstood the leeches and the snow
