Some informative commentary here, from Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy.

Nice. I used to get UWTV from the U. of Washington. If there was nothing on they’d link to NASA TV. This was before ISS, but they often sent live feeds of a Shuttle camera just pointed down. You could sit for hours and just watch the world go by.

The ISS orbits at roughly twice the altitude of the Shuttle (~250 miles)… Plus they’ve got that cool Observation ‘lounge’ affording spectacular views 24/7! :-)

Sort of ‘Hearts of Space’ music. After the show we’ll list the types of sedatives used by tonight’s performers! ;-)

BTW: That was clearly shot from the Shuttle(s)… NOT the ISS!

Damn! Kitaro nodded off on his keyboard… AGAIN! ;-)
