The cybernetic beetle is now a fact.
Remote controlled free-flying beetle.

    There’s something quite horrifying about this- from the poor beetle’s perspective. How would it feel to have someone remotely controlling your movements, let alone flying you around willy-nilly? Not to mention that sticking that electrode into the optic lobe has gotta hurt…

    OTOH, could be kind of trippy.

    I find this highly objectionable, just as I do all animal research of this nature. I don’t expect to see efforts like these disappear, but I think it’s a step in the wrong direction.
