It would be even more grotesque if it turned out you’d been grown in a nutrient tank the whole time, raised by intelligent machines to be a processor, with an operating system that made it seem to your floating brain that you had ended up as a Datamax employee. Click click. Tappity tap. Click.

and to think i drove under the flaming highway thing thinking WTF!!!!! on April 29 at high speeds to make my last turns in Tahoe in the wee hours… spent the evening in a 1984 Luna race car soon on its way to Kansas City to be sold for a motor to go in the $90,000 1991 Andretti race car being resored for Newman I was also in. Thinking of Pixar..
So from sea to flaming highway, to mountains, to sea, wattaday! only had 4 pairs of skis in tow. brutal winds. it was surreal to think that was all compressed into one day. such is life. at least mine.
sometimes, when people ask me what i do. i just shrug and say i'm a janitor and lookit my feet. they usually hand me their trash.
the melt down… in my typical no sleep 'til brooklyn style, i stumbled around, hoping i had all my gear from the coastside packed in my car, drove through pacifica, then on the 280, started to see weird signs saying weird things, but i was driving too fast to read them. nothing could be closed before the sun is up. no one's on the road… there's no scheduled bridge closure… and as i drove towards oakland the warnings were the same, i was still driving too fast to comprehend. i had my stereo playing, not the radio… and so to my surprise, over the bridge, many of the lanes were beginning to be shut down. there was fire and smoke everywhere. clearly a wtf moment. it wasn't until late in the evening did i learn what had happened, since i was skiing all day (i skied bell to bell) and in race cars all night with a neighbor. and so i was a there/a witness to the mcarthur meltdown!
